Parts of Medicare

Federal Health insurance program for  those over 65 and younger individuals with certain disabilities. Includes Part A & Part B. 

Coverage for inpatient care such as hospital stays, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation facilities, hospice, and home health services.

Medical coverage for outpatient care such as doctor visits and care given from other health care professionals. Deductibles/Co-insurance apply

         Medicare Advantage Plans               Includes Part A and Part B. Most plans include coverage for prescription drugs and additional services such as hearing, dental, and vision which are not included in original Medicare.

          Prescription Drug Plans            Original Medicare does NOT cover prescription drugs. Prescription drug plans (PDP's) can be purchased and used in combination with Original Medicare.

Also Referred to as Medigap Plans Private Insurance companies work with Original Medicare to pay part or all the "gaps" in Original Medicare coverage such as deductibles and coinsurance. Can not be used in combination with Mecicare Advantage.
