Part D - Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs)
Original Medicare does not cover prescribed medications. Coverage can be obtained through an employer plan, through a Medicare Advantage plan that includes prescription drug coverage (MA/PD), or by purchasing a stand-alone PDP from a private insurance company. Individuals enrolled in original Medicare only should consider purchasing a PDP separately from a private insurance company.
